Ruud brings over two decades of experience in the commercial and software industry; a world built on innovation, scalability and the relentless pursuit of smarter solutions. He knows how to spot opportunity where others see complexity, and how to turn ideas into reality.
What he brings
Innovative by nature, solution-oriented by instinct, and a natural connector of people and ideas. Ruud bridges the gap between creative vision and commercial execution. Where Erik leads with design, Ruud leads with direction.
How it started
Around 2016, Ruud commissioned Erik to design his garden. What started as a client-designer relationship quickly grew into something more: side by side, they built the garden together. Over the years, the conversations shifted from gardens to ideas, from ideas to opportunities, and from opportunities to a shared ambition. A friendship became a partnership. And Knops Innovations was born.
Outdoor deserves more.
The gap between interior design and outdoor design is large. We are here to close it.
What we observed
Look at what has happened indoors over the past decades: interior architects developing their own product lines, brands that seamlessly merge function and beauty, collections that define a space as much as the architecture around it.
That world outside? Largely untouched.
What we know
At Knops, we have always known what outdoor spaces can be. What they should be. Years of hands-on experience gave us a precise understanding of what clients are looking for, what the market demands, and where the gap lies.
Why now
Knops Innovations is more than a market opportunity. It is something the designers within Knops genuinely need: working from a concept from the ground up, continuously shaping and refining something new. It keeps the thinking sharp, the passion alive and the creative instinct growing.

Our garden designers translate each client's wishes into a considered, precise outdoor environment. From the first sketch to the final render — every line carries intention.
Where creativity meets precision. Our technical designers ensure that every design is not only beautiful, but buildable, detailing structures, levels and materials down to the millimetre.
The team that brings it all together on site. Managing timelines, subcontractors and quality: they ensure that what is drawn becomes real, without compromise.
The product arm of Knops. We saw a gap in the outdoor market for products with real design intention, and set out to fill it. CEGMENTA is the first chapter.

Our debut collection
In partnership with CooXs, we launched our debut outdoor kitchen line. Starting by designing something that fits seamlessly into how CooXs works today, respecting their craft, their process and their standards.
We challenged them
By developing a concept CooXs themselves hadn't yet seen a demand for, we opened a direction we had already been exploring, one CooXs had not yet considered. The result is a product that feels both inevitable and new.
